Life

Welcome to my world, well a piece of it at least.

I've been married to the love of my life for over a decade. He's a terrific guy that I'm thoroughly proud of. He works hard, is a great father, and always full of surprises. Yes, he also leaves articles of clothing all around our house.

I am a mom of two energy and opinion filled boys. I love them dearly even though they've brought chaos to my planned and orderly world. They teach me flexibility and selflessness everyday. My oldest son has multiple food allergies (gluten, dairy, soy, egg, & peanut) which is often reflected in the recipes you'll find here.

Living with allergies is a growing experience and we've learned what a huge role that food plays in life. It is an emotional and intangible part of existence. It isn't just about what we eat, but also how that plays into social, school, work, and church life.

We are looking into more about how the foods we eat nurture and harm our bodies. We are moving toward more organic foods, less preservatives and artificial anything. That being said, we also eat  junk on occasion as well. However, the better we eat, the more artificial the junk begins to taste. I think it's a move in the right direction.

We live in an ever changing world of chaos. We try to be involved without being too busy. I love structure but struggle with routine. I crave being with people but need quiet and space. I love to cook, but procrastinate on cleaning the dirty dishes I create.

I struggle with finding balance every day. I'm guessing that I'm not the only one,

What you see here is just a little glimpse at my world - how we eat, live, and celebrate on a budget. Thanks for stopping in. Read, eat, enjoy, and share what you think along the way.
